About Dimensions of Design

Architecture is about solving problems creatively with built forms.

Great ideas will always prevail because their ability to resiliently survive the five-and-a-half dimensions. Our design canvas ought to stretch beyond the conventional three dimensions and dabble in the realms of time and politics. Each one of these dimensions have its respective ideals, qualities, and deficiencies. These speculatory principles are not universal truth, rather they are the found principals of an architect for great design.

Tommy Tso is an OAA Architect in Ontario, Canada.

He is also the founding educator at School of Ideas, and

an instructor at OCAD University, Faculty of Design.
